There are so many types of oven gloves available these days that it can be quite confusing as to which one is suitable for you. Gone are the days when there were only cotton gloves or mitts to choose from. Nowadays there are so many styles, colors, designs and materials from which to choose.

There are so many variations on the same theme. You can mix and match between –

Material : silicone, cotton, aramid fiber etc.
Inner lining or not.
Long or short cuffs.
Gloves or mitts.
Quirky and funny unique designs.

I thought that I would make a list of some of the most popular designs that you can buy. The following are all available on Amazon.com in the USA. First of all are our own gloves. We liked these so much that we decided to form our own company – SHROGS


Silicone Oven Gloves

Materials

Silicone heat resistant oven /bbq gloves are fabricated from 100% food grade silicone. The silicone is free of BPA (Bisphenol A).

Their recommended temperature range is between -40° fahrenheit (-40° celcius) to +450° fahrenheit (+230° celcius).

They contain raised bumps for added grip and are fully waterproof.

Great flexibility due to the 5 finger design as opposed to the mitts type design.


Aramid (Aromatic Polyamide) Fiber Oven Gloves

Materials

These gloves have an exterior layer made from para-aramid and meta-aramid fibers. Two artificial high performance synthetic fibers that have a melting point of over 500° celcius.

Externally, there are non-slip silicone strips for extra grip.

Inside, they have a lining made with 100% cotton.

They aren’t waterproof.


Aramid (Aromatic Polyamide) Fiber Oven Gloves – Long Cuffs

Materials

These have extra long cuffs.

Cotton Oven Mitts

Materials

These mitts are made from 100% quilted cotton and some have an inner lining also.

These have extended sleeves for added protection for the wrists.

They are not waterproof.

Materials

The outer part of these mitts are made from food grade silicone and these have an inner lining of padded cotton.Your fingers won’t have the same flexibility as the silicone glove design.

Little ridges on the silicone create added grip.

Heat resistant to 425° fahrenheit.
